FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Booking & Payments
Do you accept insurance or health benefits?
We do not offer direct billing at this moment, however, we provide invoices at the end of your treatment for reimbursement.
What if I need to cancel or reschedule my appointment?
You will find a “Cancel” button on your confirmation email; if you didn’t receive one, you can send us an email at info@aleramassage.ca and we can assist you. Please give us at least 24 hours’ notice for cancellations or rescheduling.

What if I’m running late?
If you are running late, please email us at info@aleramassage.ca so we can notify your therapist and prevent your appointment from being canceled. If you have your therapist’s contact information, you’re welcome to reach out to them directly as well.
How often should I book a massage?
This varies from person to person and depends on what you’re dealing with. In general:
• For a new injury or a specific issue you want to address:
Massage is often recommended once a week or every two weeks to help reduce pain, restore movement, and prevent the issue from reverting to its previous state.
• Once symptoms are under control or for ongoing management:
Many people transition to monthly sessions to maintain progress, manage tension, and support overall wellbeing.
Your therapist will work with you to recommend a schedule based on your body, goals, and how you respond to treatment- there’s no one-size-fits-all approach.
What payment types do you accept?
We accept Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Debit, e-transfer and cash. Please note that there is a 2.5% charge for all credit card transactions.
Do you offer packages or treatment plans?
At this time we don’t offer packages or pre-paid plans.
Treatment & Techniques
What should I expect during my first massage?
Your first session begins with a small consultation to understand your goals and areas of tension. Your therapist may add some muscle testing as well if you are seeking pain relief. If possible, try not to arrive more than 5 to 10 minutes before your appointment, as we keep the door locked in between sessions.
Can you adjust pressure during the massage?
Yes! You can always let your massage therapist know if the pressure is too much for you. If you need more pressure, please make sure you are booking a deep tissue massage.
Can I speak up or ask to change something during my session?
Absolutely. You are always in control of your session. Your comfort, safety, and consent come first. You’re welcome to speak up at any time to adjust pressure, change focus areas or positioning, take a break, or stop the treatment altogether. Nothing is ever expected or required. We check in throughout the session and respect your boundaries at all times.
What if I don’t know what massage I need?
We have a list of our massages with their description in the main page of the website as well as in our Instagram, but if after reading those you are still unsure, you can send us an email and we can help you.
I am feeling sick, can I still come for my appointment?
If you’re feeling unwell, please stay home. This includes symptoms such as coughing, sneezing, sore throat, fever, or feeling generally run down.
Coming in while sick puts our therapists and other clients (some of whom may be immunocompromised) at risk. We appreciate your understanding and ask that you reschedule your appointment if you’re not feeling well. Taking care of each other helps keep our space safe for everyone.
Will I be sore after the massage?
Most people don’t feel sore after a massage. That said, if deeper pressure is used, trigger points are treated, or an area is worked more intensively due to an injury, you may experience some temporary soreness afterward. This can last a day or two for most treatments, and occasionally a few days after deeper work. This is a normal response and usually resolves on its own.
Your comfort always matters, so let your therapist know if anything feels too intense during your session.
Location & Accessibility
Do you have parking?
Yes! We have a large shared parking lot right outside, available for all our clients. It’s shared with other businesses in the building, so there’s plenty of space, and it’s easy to access.
Is the clinic wheelchair accessible?
